Intro
Who's afraid of ghosts?
Apparently, the current job market is. Both job seekers and recruiters have reported increasing incidences of "ghosting" in the job market. For job seekers, the main pain point is the proliferation of so-called "ghost jobs" posted by companies with no intention of hiring.
For recruiters/hiring managers, the problem is "ghost candidates" -- either fake job applications, imposters using someone else's resume to land an interview, or candidates whom, on receiving an actual job offer, cease all communication.
How It Works
Our site attempts to eliminate so-called "ghost job" postings by implementing an invitation-only job posting process. There are two types of roles for posting a job. One is for recruiters, once they've been sent an invitation by someone who has worked with them before and can vouch for their authenticity. These recruiters are known to post "real" jobs.
The second job poster role is for individual contributors. This use case is intended for anyone who has first-hand knowledge of a current or impending job opening on their team. Often these positions are filled via referrals or word-of-mouth -- the so-called "hidden job market".
Lastly, there are users who only want to view open job postings.
